Monster Energy was launched on April 18, 2002, by Hansen Natural Corporation (now Monster Beverage Corporation). The iconic green claw logo and black can design quickly made it stand out on shelves. By the mid-2000s, Monster had become the second best-selling energy drink in the world, behind Red Bull. In 2015, Coca-Cola acquired a 16.7% stake in the company, helping Monster expand its global distribution significantly.
